Graduate International Excellence Scholarships 2026

Graduate International Excellence Scholarships are merit-based scholarships available for exceptional students from around the world who have demonstrated academic excellence, and who apply to one of UMass Lowell’s Master’s programs.

The Graduate International Excellence Scholarships were created to help students advance their knowledge, their careers, and the rich diversity of UMass Lowell’s student population.

Eligible countries

Qualified students from all countries of the world can apply for the Graduate International Excellence Scholarships.

Level and field of study

All master’s courses offered at UMass Lowell University.

Also apply for University of New Haven Masters Scholarship for International Students.

Scholarship value and inclusion

Scholarship awards range from:

• $1,000 to $5,000 and are provided for a total of four semesters (a maximum of $20,000) to students who pursue their studies full-time on campus.
• For students pursuing the 42-credit Master of Public Health degree, the award is available for up to five semesters (up to $25,000 total).

Eligibility criteria

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

• Meet the academic standards required for acceptance into your program of interest.
• Be admitted into one of UMass Lowell’s Master’s degree programs.
• Pursue your degree full-time by taking classes on campus at UMass Lowell or, at minimum, two on-campus and one online course each semester.
• Be classified as international tuition residency per university and state guidelines.
• Successfully pursue your degree program in F-1 student status sponsored by UMass Lowell. You will be required to take a full-time course load on campus or, at minimum, two on-campus and one online course each semester and maintain your valid F-1 status.
• Have an international residency.

How to apply for Graduate International Excellence Scholarships

Applicants who meet the scholarship eligibility requirements will automatically be given consideration to receive this award. There are no additional application requirements that need to be submitted.

Note that students who are awarded this scholarship must submit their enrollment deposit within 21 days. If the deposit has not been submitted, the scholarship will be revoked and may be awarded to another applicant.
